FHT Code of Conduct and Professional Practice

About the FHT Code

The FHT Code of Conduct and Professional Practice clearly defines the high standards expected of FHT members and offers guidance on how these standards are to be met.

The FHT Code was first published in 1962, when the association was founded by Wallace S Sharps. It was the first Code produced for professional therapists, and has been updated regularly over the past 50 years, to reflect changes in legislation, therapy standards and best practice.

In applying for membership, members of the FHT voluntarily agree to abide by the content of the FHT Code and any future amendments or additions.
